Marsh Finance took its first steps in 1970 when Kevin and Wendy Marsh established a company offering credit for drapery purchases.
1988
A new chapter begins!
Marsh Finance expanded its horizons in 1988, officially becoming Marsh Finance Limited.
1993
Tech takes the wheel.
Andrew Marsh, our current CEO, joined the team in 1993 as IT Director after completing his IT degree. Using his passion for technology to drive our mission to improve the customer experience.
1996
Expansion and Consolidation
By 1996, Marsh Finance boasted a team of over 250 employees across 11 branches in the North of England. As the business continued to grow, a strategic shift occurred. Shopacheck acquired half of the company, while the remaining operations were centralised at our Heywood, Lancashire headquarters.
2000
A New Era Begins
The new millennium marks a turning point for Marsh Finance. With Kevin and Wendy's retirement in 2000, Andrew takes the reins and pioneers motor finance lending from the humble setting of his dining room table. The company's first office opens above a Rochdale café, and a dedicated sales team is assembled. Marsh Finance's focus remains firmly rooted in the North West.

Rapid Expansion
In 2003, business boomed! The growth allowed us to move to larger premises and initiate a national sales strategy.
2008
Weathering the Storm
The financial crisis of 2008 presented significant challenges for the industry. While many faced setbacks, Marsh Finance demonstrated resilience by continuing to lend and grow. In a strategic move, we partnered with All In One Finance, a division of Carcraft, to manage their motor finance operations.
2010
Expanding Our Reach
In 2010, Marsh Finance broadened its services by offering car finance outsourcing solutions. By partnering with manufacturers and banks, we helped businesses streamline their operations and provide customers with seamless financing options.
2017
A New Home for Growth
Seven years of consistent growth and investment culminated in 2017 with the need for expanded office space. To accommodate our thriving team, we acquired the stunning Crossfield Mill in Rochdale, a historic Victorian building that remains our vibrant headquarters today.

The COVID-19 lockdowns of 2020 presented unprecedented challenges for businesses across the UK. Despite these difficulties, Marsh Finance remained steadfast in its commitment to exceptional service.
